First, I am sorry if this is the wrong subreddit. I am looking for help.
My mother's computer was just upgraded and the Spider Solitaire is not on 8.1, the app versions have too much flash and the full screen bothers her neck, I wanted to put an older version of the game on the computer for her. I love my Momma.

I found this link: http://www.howtogeek.com/122145/what-happened-to-solitaire-and-minesweeper-in-windows-8/ and thought SWEET a way to make window's 7 card games work on 8.1 will be exactly what my Mom needs.
Everything was going well until the 'Version check' fix. I am a noob at hex editing so I tried to run the 'microsoft.games.patcher.2.1patch.exe' and Windows tells me: 'This ap can't run on your PC'
I have looked around in google, and even tried finding the hex code to edit in flexHex but the string given in the HTG page is not found in the SpiderSolitaire.exe coding.
I am lost and not sure what to do, can anyone help me, or at least give me an idea where to look if this is the wrong place?
